Ninja Creami Peach Frozen Yogurt
If you’re looking for a lighter, lower calorie creation to try in your Ninja Creami, this peach frozen yogurt is definitely one to add to your list! Made with just 3 super simple ingredients – no artificial flavors, and no pudding mixes – it’s creamy, vibrant, and packed with natural peachy flavor. Thanks to the addition of Greek style natural yogurt, it’s higher in protein that most frozen desserts and it’s also super easy to make. Perfect for summer days, or when you just fancy something light and fruity!
Right now this is one of my go-to desserts to offer my little girl if she asks for ice cream after dinner. I love knowing that it’s made with real fruit and I know the exact ingredients that have been used – and she always asks for seconds – if you’ve ever been responsible for feeding a fussy toddler, you’ll know that’s very high praise indeed.
Ingredients
- Greek-style natural yogurt: I use Fage 5% for the absolute best texture and taste. You could substitute for a fat free variety if you like, but the result will be a lot less creamy! Make sure that you go for plain yogurt for this recipe, and not flavored.
- Canned peach slices: I recommend choosing a variety in juice or syrup for extra peachiness and sweetness.
- Granulated sugar: If you prefer, you can substitute for your favorite sweetener.
How To Make Ninja Creami Frozen Peach Yogurt
I’ve included a printable recipe card for you at the end of this post, and it covers everything you need to make this frozen treat at home! Here, I’m going to share a little more about the steps, alongside some photographs I took in my own kitchen when making this recipe, to help demonstrate the steps…
-
Add the canned peaches and yogurt to a blender cup, and blend until smooth.
-
Taste test your mixture, and add sugar as desired. I recommend adding a little at a time then adding more if necessary. I like around 2 tbsp, though my husband prefers 4!
- Pour the mixture into your Ninja Creami tub, being careful not to exceed the fill line.
-
Secure the lid, and place on a completely flat surface in the freezer for 24 hours.
-
Remove from the freezer.
-
Spin on the ‘Ice Cream’ setting of your Ninja Creami. Note that if you’re using a fat-free yogurt variety, you should use the ‘Lite Ice Cream’ setting instead.
-
If it’s a little crumbly, add a splash of milk and re-spin once or twice until it’s at your desired consistency. Note that this is what my frozen yogurt looked like after the first spin – don’t panic if it’s crumbly, as it’s easily fixed:
-
Serve, and enjoy! If you like, garnish with extra peach slices.
FAQs
1. Can I use fresh or frozen peaches instead of canned?
Yes! If using fresh peaches, peel and chop them before blending. If using frozen, let them thaw slightly before blending with the yogurt and sugar to ensure a smooth texture.
2. Can I make this without added sugar?
Absolutely! You can swap granulated sugar for honey, maple syrup, or a sugar-free sweetener like monk fruit or stevia. Keep in mind that sugar helps with texture, so your frozen yogurt may be slightly firmer without it.
3. How long does this need to freeze before using the Ninja Creami?
For the best texture, freeze your mixture for at least 24 hours before spinning. This allows it to freeze solid, ensuring the creamiest consistency when processed.
4. My frozen yogurt came out crumbly—how do I fix it?
If your frozen yogurt looks crumbly or too firm after the first spin, use the RE-SPIN function with a splash of milk or extra yogurt.
5. How can I make this frozen yogurt creamier?
For a richer texture, replace some of the Greek yogurt a bit of heavy cream, or coconut milk. You can also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract for extra depth of flavor.
6. How long will this frozen yogurt last?
Homemade frozen yogurt is best enjoyed within a week for the freshest taste. If it hardens in the freezer, let it sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before re-spinning or scooping.
