Ninja Creami Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
If mint chocolate chip is one of your favorite ice creams, you need to try this Ninja Creami recipe! It’s super simple to prepare, and it tastes just as good as any store-bought variety. Best of all, because you’re making it at home, you know exactly what ingredients are going into it, so you don’t have to worry about any artificial flavors or sweeteners that you prefer to avoid. It takes just 5 minutes to prep, then you’ll pop it in the freezer for 24 hours before spinning in your machine and adding your chocolate chip mix-in. I think you’ll love it, and it’ll quickly become one of your go-to recipes!

Ingredients
- Heavy cream: This is my favorite base for Ninja Creami recipes, and it’s unrivalled when to comes to creating that creamy flavor and texture. At any given time, I’ve usually got a couple of cartons in my fridge as I know I’ll use them up with making ice creams for my family!
- Sweetened condensed milk: I use Carnation, but you can use any brand that you might prefer
- Whole milk: This helps to create maximum creaminess for the base
- Peppermint extract: This is what creates that refreshing minty flavor
- Green food coloring: This is totally optional, but it’s required if that want the green color. If you leave it out, you’ll still have the minty flavor from the peppermint extract, but it’ll look more like a vanilla choc chip ice cream
- Chocolate chips: I use milk chocolate, but you can substitute for white or dark if you prefer
Step-by-Step Instructions for Making Ninja Creami Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
Please note that you’ll find a printable recipe card at the bottom of this post!
- Add the heavy cream, milk, condensed milk, and peppermint extract in to your Ninja Creami tub
- Mix thoroughly to combine. You can use a fork for this, or a mini handheld whisk. Be careful to ensure that the condensed milk has fully mixed with the rest of the ingredients!
- Add the green food coloring, a drop or two at a time, until you’ve achieved your desired color. How much you need can vary from brand to brand!
- Secure the lid, and place in the freezer for 24 hours
- Remove from the freezer, remove the lid, wait for 10 minutes, and then spin on the ‘Ice Cream’ setting. You may find that you need to spin once more for the best texture – this typically applies if the ice cream has icy bits or it’s a little crumbly. Add a splash of milk before re-spinning!
- Use a cutlery knife to form a well in the ice cream – it should be around an inch wide, and go right the way down to the bottom of your tub
- Add your chocolate chips into the hole
- Return the tub to the Ninja Creami, and use the ‘Mix-In’ setting
- Enjoy your ice cream! I like mine served in a cone with a swirl of chocolate sauce
Important Tips & Tricks
- I recommend using the ‘Ice Cream’ setting on your Ninja Creami for this recipe – I find that it’s the best option for heavy cream based ice creams
- Try to avoid the temptation to spin your ice cream before it’s been in the freezer for 24 hours! Honestly, this is probably the hardest part of the whole recipe! But it really does create the best results
- Leave your tub out of the freezer for 10-15 minutes before spinning for the perfect, creamiest texture. If I have leftovers that go back in the freezer, I also like to leave them out on the side before serving for the perfect scoopable texture
