Ninja Creami Butterscotch Ice Cream Recipe!
A rich, sweet, and decadent recipe for butterscotch ice cream, made in the Ninja Creami! Made with a handful of easy ingredients – including butterscotch pudding mix – this ice cream has a beautiful caramel flavor and it’s definitely one you need to try if you’re experimenting with different flavors and you want to put your own spin (pun totally intended) on a classic.
For this recipe, we’ll be using my Ninja creami vanilla ice cream as the base. If you haven’t tried making that one yet, I highly recommend that you put it on your list! It’s super simple yet beautifully creamy and delicious, and I use it as a base for a big variety of different flavors and mix-ins when I’m making ice creams from scratch in my Creami. It has just a handful of simple, staple ingredients, and it’s a recipe that’ll serve you so well if you’re determined to make the most of your machine and want to try out different varieties the easy way!

Ninja Creami Butterscotch Ice Cream With Pudding Mix
The more traditional method of making butterscotch ice cream involves cooking brown sugar and butter together until the sugar has caramelized and the butter has browned. For this recipe though, we’ll be taking a shortcut and using a packet of butterscotch pudding mix. It just makes the process so much quicker and easier, without compromising on that beautifully rich taste!
As well as adding flavor, the emulsifiers in the pudding mix help to thicken it up slightly and create the very best texture.
It’s also typically low in cost, and convenient to keep in your cupboard.
I used Angel Delight butterscotch pudding when making this recipe, though any brand that you can find in your grocery store will work too.
Your Shopping List
- Heavy cream: This is the base ingredient for most of the ice cream recipes you’ll find here at Scoop & Sprinkle! It creates a wonderfully creamy texture, and it’s a staple that you’ll use over and over again if you love making ice creams with your Creami
- Sweetened condensed milk: This is different to evaporated milk! It’s sweeter, so it’s ideal for ice creams. I use and recommend Carnation
- Whole milk: Use whole milk for maximum creaminess
- Vanilla extract: Use the highest quality variety that you can find for depth of flavor. This is another staple that you’ll use over and over
- Butterscotch pudding mix: As mentioned, I used Angel Delight for this recipe, though your favorite brand is fine!
- Toppings: Totally optional! I love this ice cream served in a cone with a drizzle of caramel sauce and some chocolate chips for decoration
Tips and Tricks
- Make sure that all your ingredients are well combined before freezing
- Use the ‘Ice Cream’ setting on the Ninja Creami for this recipe – in my experience, it’s the best option for heavy cream based ice creams
- Make sure that your tub has been in the freezer for a full 24 hours before you attempt to spin it!
- Leave your tub out of the freezer for 10-15 minutes before spinning for the perfect, creamiest texture
- If your ice cream seems icy or crumbly after the first spin, you can add a splash of milk and re-spin again. I’ve found that this is typically essential for this particular recipe to create that creamy texture that you’re looking for
How To Make Ninja Creami Butterscotch Ice Cream
(Please note that the full, printable recipe card is available at the bottom of this post!)Â
- Add all the ingredients in to your Ninja Creami tub
- Mix thoroughly to combine – you need to ensure that the condensed milk is fully combined into the mixture! I like to use a fork to achieve this
- Secure the lid, and place in the freezer for 24 hours. Always make sure that it’s placed on a completely flat surface!
- Remove from the freezer, remove the lid, wait for 10 minutes, and then spin on the ‘Ice Cream’ setting. You may find that you need to spin once more for the best texture – this typically applies if the ice cream has icy bits. Just add a splash of milk before re-spinning!
- Enjoy!
