10 Cozy & Comforting Sunday Crockpot Meals

Slow cookers were made for Sundays! We love a cozy dinner round here, but I rarely have the time to dedicate to cooking a full traditional roast, and so my crockpot saves the day time and time again on busy weekends. Whether you’re heading to church, watching the game, spending the afternoon with family, or just enjoying a slower pace and some chill time before the week begins, there’s nothing better than coming home to a house that smells amazing and a dinner that’s already taken care of.

This collection features the recipes I reach for when I’m after proper comfort food without spending half the day in the kitchen. From classic pot roasts and cozy casseroles to rich gravies and hearty family dinners, with a few more non-traditional options thrown in for good measure, every one of these recipes lets the slow cooker do the hard work so you can enjoy your Sunday, and end it gathered around the table with the people you love.

Crockpot Beef Bourguignon

If Sunday dinner calls for something a little more special, this crockpot beef bourguignon is well worth the wait. Tender chunks of beef simmer away with a rich, savory sauce until they’re melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and it’s very minimal hands-on work.

My version includes potatoes so it’s a full meal on its own, and I usually just add some crusty bread for mopping up the sauce. Probably my all-time favorite slow cooker recipe!

Crockpot Mississippi Pork Roast

Mississippi pork roast has earned its place as a slow cooker classic, and for good reason. The pork turns wonderfully tender as it cooks, while the rich, buttery sauce with its signature tang is perfect for spooning over mashed potatoes or serving alongside roasted vegetables.

Whether you shred the pork or slice it, this feels right at home on a slow Sunday afternoon. Add some dinner rolls to the table and you’ve got a comforting family meal that’s guaranteed to disappear fast.

Crockpot Pork Roast

The exact kind of meal I always come back to on a Sunday! Everything cooks together in one pot, so by the time it’s ready you’ve got tender pork, perfectly cooked potatoes, carrots, and a rich gravy without having to think about sides or juggle a dozen pans.

If you’re feeding the family before everyone heads off in different directions for the week, this one’s hard to beat. It’s simple, filling, and the kind of dinner that gets everyone sitting around the table for a little longer.

Crockpot Chicken & Green Bean Casserole

If you’re in the mood for proper comfort food but don’t have the energy for a big Sunday cook, this crockpot chicken & green bean casserole is the answer. It takes a few everyday pantry staples and turns them into a creamy, satisfying dinner that feels a little bit nostalgic in the best possible way.

This one is great for the holidays, but it’s also easy enough for a busy weekend when you want comfort food without any fuss.

Crockpot Chicken Pot Pie

Few dinners say comfort food quite like chicken pot pie! Tender chicken cooks with potatoes, vegetables, and a rich, creamy sauce until everything is perfectly spoonable, then it’s finished with fluffy ready-made biscuits instead of a traditional pie crust.

A few shortcuts make it super easy on busy days, and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve prepped this on Sunday afternoons. It’s always clean plates all round in my household!

Crockpot Chicken Pot Roast

Love a classic pot roast but want something a little lighter and more budget-friendly? This one swaps the beef for tender, juicy chicken thighs, cooked low and slow with potatoes, vegetables, and a rich homemade gravy that’s made from simple store-cupboard ingredients.

I came up with the idea for this one when I was bored of usual Sunday rotation, and it’s quickly become a family favorite that I always return to.

Crockpot Swedish Meatballs

For the Sundays when you fancy a change from the usual pot roast or stew! Made with frozen meatballs and a handful of simple ingredients, they’re a clever shortcut dinner that feels far more special than the effort involved.

Serve them over buttery mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice and let the creamy gravy do the rest. It’s an easy Sunday dinner that always feels a little different from the usual, but is just as comforting.

Crockpot Coca-Cola Beef Tips

Yep I know it might sound a little unusual, but trust me, it works. As everything cooks together, the Coke helps create the most delicious sweet-and-savory gravy that’s perfect for spooning over mashed potatoes.

This is one of those Sunday dinners that always gets people asking what the secret ingredient is. It’s rich, comforting, and just different enough to shake up your usual slow cooker routine.

Crockpot Ravioli Lasagna

Italian food always goes down a treat in my home on a Sunday, and this crockpot ravioli lasagna is an easy win. Ready-made ravioli does all the hard work in place of traditional lasagna sheets, so you still get all those rich, cheesy layers with a fraction of the effort.

Just add garlic bread and you’re good to go!

Crockpot Garlic Parmesan Sausage & Potatoes

Some Sundays call for a dinner that’s made with whatever you’ve already got in the fridge, and this one fits the bill perfectly. Smoky sausage, tender baby potatoes, garlic butter, and plenty of Parmesan come together to make a meal that’s big on flavor without a long shopping list.

It’s budget-friendly, filling, and all cooks together in one pot, making it ideal for those weekends when you want a proper family dinner without spending half the day in the kitchen.

I hope this collection gives you some inspiration for your next Sunday family meal. As always, I’d really love to hear about what you make in your own kitchen, and how these turn out for you.
