What You’ll Need + Recipe Overview
This recipe is proof that a bag of frozen meatballs can become something seriously delicious with just a few pantry staples! You’ll need frozen meatballs, sriracha, maple syrup, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and a little fresh cilantro for serving.
The meatballs are first steamed in a skillet until heated through, which keeps them tender while speeding up the cooking process. Once warmed, they’re tossed with the sriracha glaze and cooked for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens. Perfect for an easy dinner or party appetizer!

Recipe Notes + Tips
- Frozen meatballs: Any variety works here, including beef, turkey, chicken, or Italian-style meatballs. Plain meatballs are best since they let the sweet and spicy glaze shine.
- Sriracha: Start with 2 tablespoons if you’re sensitive to heat, or bump it up to 3 tablespoons if you like things spicy.
- Keep the heat at medium-low once the sauce is added. This helps the glaze thicken and coat the meatballs without burning.
- Stir the meatballs frequently after adding the sauce to ensure every meatball gets evenly coated.
- If the glaze becomes too thick, add a splash of water to loosen it slightly.
- For the best texture, don’t skip browning the meatballs before adding the sauce. Those golden edges add extra flavor.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro just before serving for a pop of freshness and color.
- This recipe is great for meal prep. Make a double batch and portion it into containers with rice for easy lunches throughout the week.

Variations + Extras
Once you’ve mastered the basic recipe, it’s easy to switch up the flavor with a few simple additions.
- Sweet Chili Sriracha Meatballs: Add a few spoonfuls of sweet chili sauce along with the sriracha. The result is a stickier, sweeter glaze with a little less heat—perfect for parties and potlucks.
- Teriyaki Sriracha Meatballs: Stir in a splash of soy sauce (or tamari) and a small spoonful of brown sugar. Serve over rice and garnish with sliced green onions for an easy weeknight dinner.
- BBQ Sriracha Meatballs: Mix your favorite barbecue sauce with the sriracha for a smoky-sweet-spicy combination. These are especially delicious served on slider buns.
- Creamy Sriracha Meatballs: Once the sauce is warm, stir in a spoonful of mayonnaise or plain Greek yogurt. Don’t let it boil after adding it. This creates a creamy spicy coating that’s fantastic in wraps, bowls, or sandwiches.
- Extra Heat: Add an extra spoonful of sriracha or a pinch of red pepper flakes if you like your meatballs on the spicier side.

Serving Ideas
These sriracha meatballs are incredibly versatile and can be served as anything from a quick weeknight dinner to an easy party appetizer.

They’re perfect for game days, potlucks, holiday parties, and casual gatherings because they can be made ahead and stay delicious at room temperature for a while.
